Mick knew the throwing up could either be due to the booze or maybe Rex's head was worse off than anyone thought. He could have bad concussion or something. The guitarist glad that Gloria and Ansgar were both here for the drunken bassist since this could have happened when he was on his own.
"Robert will get you to the hospital, mate. Listen to Prince Ansgar here. He'll look after your princess ass."
Rex offered Mick a finger and tried to stay awake best he could.
Robert was soon coming in to help Gloria with Rex. He was tired but injuries happened. He had the keys to Rekker's car which would be easier to drive than the limo or one of the bigger vehicles.
"Come on boys." Robert came in and offered Rex his hand as Gloria got in a position to help get him on his feet. "Let's go for a drive."
Ansgar knew they were going to the hospital and he started pulling on the bed to try and get on his feet. He was coming along too.
As soon as Robert walked into the room Mick stood up and quickly pulled on a pair of boxers because he was going to get Weird. The bloke would want to comfort his brother and would likely not be deep asleep since Gloria was over here looking after Rex.
"I'll go and get Weird. He'll want to look after Rex here too. Be back in a minute."
Walking out to get Weird, Mick could feel worry building inside at the state of his friend but knew he was in the best hands. Knocking on the door, Weird answered and looked tired but was wide awake once he listened to what had happened to Rex. He looked like a man on a mission as he was soon at the room with the rest of them.
"You lads will be alright with Robert and Gloria. I'll stay behind because I've done my best and I think I'm about to throw up myself. Bloody Mule..."
Mick quickly dashed into the bathroom and threw up into the toilet. Rex looked up and saw Weird. His brother looked worried and was now looking to Robert and Gloria.
"Thank you." Gloria told Mick because she had forgotten about her partner because her mind was on Rex.
"I'll stay too." Gloria took Weird's hand and kissed his cheek. She gave over her place helping Rex to her partner and paused before helping Ansgar to his feet. The Dane was up, wavering, but steady enough to walk. Then she was turning to go take care of Mick in the bathroom. This happened sometimes when one or another group of the musicians boozed too hard. She'd spent more than one late night taking care of sick band members.
Ansgar went to get the door so they could head down to the car.
Weird sighed because he knew something like this was bound to happen with all the amounts of booze he was chugging down his neck with the drunken Dane. Rex had no chance of trying to outmatch Ansgar because he was a drunk and was used to the kick of the Mule. Now, Rex was injured due to a drunken fall. Weird was worried and patted Rex on the shoulder.
"Thanks for helping him. He doesn't usually drink this much and I think this was some kind of dare to get me drunk."
That much Weird knew because he'd been drinking with them earlier on before leaving. Then came the tickling and groping. That part he didn't want to see. Glancing towards the bathroom door, Weird knew that Gloria would take good care of Mick who'd had a stomach full too by the sounds of it.
Ansgar felt guilty about what happened to Rex once Weird mentioned the dare. He looked as guilty as he felt while helping the other two get Rex into the elevator and out to the car.
Robert nodded to Weird's comment. "We'll get him taken care of. I'm sure it's just a bad bump."
Weird noticed how Ansgar looked and could see the Dane looking upset about the whole thing. It wasn't his fault because Rex wanted to get smashed and go along with it all. The injury probably was a bad bump but they couldn't be sure until he got his head looked at by the medical professionals.
"You're probably right."
The stoic bassist helping Robert walk Rex towards the car. Rekker's Firebird would get them there quicker. He had to reassure Ansgar though because none of this was his fault.
"Don't feel guilty. Rex is known for getting silly when drunk. He really likes you though and has told me many times about the hairy Dane with the cute boyish smile."
Rex himself not hearing what his brother was saying.
Ansgar crawled into the back of the car but didn't say anything. Sure, Rex might have gotten drunk on his own but he was the one that encouraged it to this point. The Dane tried to smile but he couldn't as he pulled Rex in to lean against him for the ride to the hospital.
Robert was ready to get them to the hospital. While the other two got Rex into the back he called ahead to the hospital to let the ER know they were on the way with someone injured. It would get them in faster and hopefully answers to help Weird and Ansgar calm down a little. Stoic or not, he knew the bassist was worried.
Rex felt Ansgar pull him close as they got into the car. He was going to hospital? But why? He just fell over, didn't he? A drunken mistake and then he saw Mick get out of bed naked. Everything else just seemed hazy. Why could't he remember anything? Weird was worried but trying not to show it because Rex needed him to be strong.
"Ansgar? Am I still your Princess Rex?"
The injured bassist now almost mumbling against the Dane's shoulder as he could feel his eyes begin to close once more. Weird nudging his brother back awake.
Weird was grateful for Ansgar keeping Rex awake through jokes and conversation. He needed it as they were now at the hospital and being taken into the A and E department. Rex on a stretcher but still reaching out for Ansgar's hand.
"I love you, hairy drunken Dane."
The medics just smiled as they took the injured bassist into the scanning room where Rex would get a scan of his head with an MRI machine. Weird just putting a hand on the Dane's shoulder in support. It made a change that he didn't need to reach up because Ansgar was the same height as Weird, Gilly and Mick, compared to the other taller Scandinavians. Now all they had to do was wait in the waiting room for the results.
That I love you caused Ansgar to freeze and stare as they took Rex away. Then he panicked. His heart was hammering in his chest as he panicked. It was so much that when Weird touched his shoulder the Dane jumped.
Ansgar pulled away and started to pace around. Robert knew that look because he'd seen Rekker do that enough. Stress. He imagined that it couldn't be easy on the Dane who was drunk off his ass and flooded with adrenaline.
"Let's take a walk." Robert mentions when he sees the cafeteria sign. The Dane needs to burn off some of the energy and get something to hydrate him. Besides, they had Robert's phone number to call when the scan was done and they could be reunited with Rex. Robert glanced at Weird with sympathy and trying to support them.
Weird thought that taking a walk was a good idea and nodded at Robert's suggestion. Ansgar was still clearly in a state of shock and no surprising considering what had gone on. Poor Rex taking a crack on the head falling over drunk.
"He'll be ok. My brother is made of strong stuff."
The stoic bassist offering some support to the poor Dane. Rex admitting his love on top of what was going on must be too much for him. Robert was doing a good job as usual calming things down and being the caring man that he was.
Robert tried to encourage Ansgar to walk but the it was slow going. He could see Ansgar shaking.
The Dane was having such a meltdown because of injury in general. His own trauma in prison and the injuries to his little brother. In truth Ansgar was the most mentally fragile of the Soerens. This was simply too much.
Robert glanced over at Weird. "Why don't you go into the cafeteria and get a few things to eat for us, and some tea?"
That way Ansgar wasn't standing too long. The poor young man needed to sit.
Weird could tell Ansgar was having a hard time of it so would do his best to work with Robert to help the shaking Dane. Nodding to Robert, Weird did indeed start his walk to the cafeteria, getting some food and some tea for Ansgar and Robert. As for Rex? Weird knew his brother would be fine. It was just a gut feeling he had.
"Here. I got some food and some tea for you both. It'll be alright, Ansgar. My brother has taken worse falls than this and survived."
The bassist patting the man's shoulder in support while passing sandwiches and tea to Robert and the Dane.
Robert got Ansgar to sit in a booth in the cafeteria. The Dane couldn't sit still because of the agitation. Robert eventually put his arm around the Dane, stroking his back.
Robert offered Weird a thankful smile. "Why don't you have some tea?"
Robert slid the tea toward the Dane who immediately slid it away. He didn't want anything to drink. For awhile, he sat there nervously drumming his fingers before he spoke.
"Rik's father..." Ansgar's gaze turned down to the table. "Torden called me one day. He's bashed Mikkel's head in like this. I couldn't even go back to Denmark for him."
For Ansgar, it wasn't just the trauma of Rex hitting his head but trauma from the past pressing on him too. Robert frowned because the more he learned about what the Danes had gone through, the more he wanted to march to Denmark and give that man a piece of his mind.
Weird just shook his head with a frown. The trauma the young Danes had sustained was sickening, knowing that it was all committed by adults who preyed on mere boys. The bassist worried for his brother but knew Rex would be fine. As for Ansgar---he looked a total wreck.
"Bastards."
There was sheer rage in the Brit's eyes as he listened. Poor Mikkel getting his head bashed in by an abusive monster. Rik's own father. Fuck. If Robert would march to Denmark to kick up hell then Weird would march with him. Ansgar was Rex's love interest so that immediately made him family.
